Capital Credits - A Cooperative Difference

One of the many benefits that you receive as a member of United Electric Cooperative is that when your cooperatives earnings exceed their expenses, you get money back in the form of Capital Credits.

Capital Credits represent one of the basic differences between rural electric cooperatives and investor owned utilities. Investor owned utilities pay their stockholders dividends. No outside investor owns any part of your electric cooperative. Every owner is a friend, neighbor or family member who receives electricity from your cooperative.
